If you were to ask the students of Turpin what they like doing in their free time, the word “Netflix” would come up in the majority of the conversations. Netflix is a lot of people’s guilty pleasures, including mine.

For 8.99 a month, you are able to access over 100 different movies and T.V. shows of all genres. It’s set up to where you can find movies and shows by genre if you’re looking for a certain type of show or movie, or you can go to search if you are looking for something specific. Netflix also has more recent shows, so you can stay up-to-date on the hottest T.V. trends.

Since there are so many different options, that means people have different favorites. Senior McKenna Zink said her favorite shows are How I Met Your Mother, Friends, and Gossip Girl. “I love these shows because some are funny and some are more serious, and they never get old when I watch them,” said Zink. “Friends is one show that I have watched multiple times and it never gets old. It’s my go to show on snow days and when I have free time, and I always tell my friends they should start watching it if they haven’t already.”

Some of Senior Mackenzie Maddy’s favorites are American Horror Story, Grey’s Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother and Friends. “I like watching Netflix after school or before I go to bed; it’s definitely a guilty pleasure of mine,” Maddy said.

My favorite shows on Netflix are One Tree Hill, Friends, and The Vampire Diaries. I’m currently watching The Office and it’s definitely becoming one of my favorites. I love how funny it is and also that some episodes have a good message about life and relationships. It’s the kind of show that you should watch when you need a laugh and I highly recommend it to everyone.
As cheesy as it sounds, Netflix is a great way to take your mind off of things and just enjoy a show. It makes you feel as if you are with the characters in the shows and you’re getting a little piece of their life. Netflix can make you laugh, cry, scare you or just entertain you and sometimes it’s nice to take a break from your own life and enjoy the show.
