Starting Friday April 15, Turpin Theater will be putting on a show for the community. The show is one that many may have heard of as its based off the movie, Legally Blonde.
Legally Blonde tells the story of a sorority girl named Elle Woods who attends Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner and prove to him that she is worthy enough. However, she is intrigued by how her knowledge of law can help others. Elle Woods successfully defends exercise phenom Brooke Wyndham in a murder trial. Throughout the show, no one has faith in Elle Woods, but she surprises them when she defies expectations meanwhile staying true to herself.
I had the chance to talk to one of the members of the theater department, Senior Danielle Hodge, to get her insight on the production.
When asked what her favorite part of the musical was, Hodge exclaimed, “being the stage manager. My favorite part was watching all of the hard work be brought all together in the end.”
Hodge also highlighted the fact that the theater department has been working months and months on this production, and is looking for it as a whole to be a success.
Tickets will be sold at the door on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
“People should come see it because we have put so much time into this show and we would really love support from our students and faculty!” Hodge said. “We all hope you enjoy!!”
